| Though Marietta Lassiter (Ga.) senior quarterback Hutson Mason already had established several Georgia state passing records, he played what coach Chip Lindsey called his greatest game ever Friday night during a 70-49 victory over South Gwinnett. Performing in front of a packed house during the second round of the Class AAAAA playoffs, the 6-foot-3, 185-pounder was on target 32 times in 39 attempts for a state-record 552 yards and a state-record-tying eight touchdowns.
