Georgia QB Hutson Mason continues to rewrite state's high school football record book

Though Marietta Lassiter (Ga.) senior quarterback Hutson Mason already had established several Georgia state passing records, he played what coach Chip Lindsey called his greatest game ever Friday night during a 70-49 victory over South Gwinnett. Performing in front of a packed house during the second round of the Class AAAAA playoffs, the 6-foot-3, 185-pounder was on target 32 times in 39 attempts for a state-record 552 yards and a state-record-tying eight touchdowns. His eight touchdown passes are tied for No. 3 in high school history, just two short of the record shared by five players. He threw only one interception.
